Account types
Personal, NGO, and corporate accounts on Ardent Africa.
Ardent Africa supports three account types. You choose one when you sign up, and it shapes what your profile shows and what you can do.
Personal
The default. Donate, sign petitions, build a supporter profile, and earn achievements. Most people use a personal account.
Job seeking is personal-account only: build your CV under My CV, get found in the talent directory, and apply in a tap. See Find a job and build your profile. Personal accounts also write reviews, buy event tickets, book marketplace services and volunteer.
NGO
For registered non-profit organisations. A verified NGO gets a public organisation
hub at /ngo/<slug> that brings together everything it runs on the platform
(petitions, campaigns, events, marketplace services, and volunteer opportunities) and
appears in the searchable NGO directory (filter by focus area and region).
Verification protects donors by confirming the organisation is genuine.
Corporate
For businesses and enterprises that want to support causes, run corporate social
responsibility (CSR) programmes, or partner with the platform. A verified company gets
a public hub at /corporate/<slug> showing its industry, CSR focus areas, and its
activity (events, services, petitions it backs), and appears in the
corporate partners directory.
What organisations can do
Verified NGOs and companies can do everything a personal account can, with an org identity attached:
- Run petitions under the organisation's name (open to all account types).
- Support the Ardent Africa Foundation's causes: give freely through the normal, secure donation flow.
- Host events (free or ticketed; ticket funds settle to the organiser's own payment account) and list services in the marketplace (settled off-platform).
- Post volunteer opportunities and manage applicants.
- Hire: post jobs, screen and message applicants, and keep a public company page that candidates read before applying. Hiring is organisations only, and a personal account cannot post jobs. See Post a job and hire.
- Manage a business listing on Ardent Reviews: respond to reviews, publish opening hours, services and photos, and build a TrustScore.
- Be discovered via the org directories and hub pages, with a verified badge.
When public fundraising is enabled, organisations can also run their own fundraising campaigns with their org identity.
Verification
NGO and corporate accounts can be verified by the Ardent Africa team. Verification adds a trust signal donors can see and unlocks the verified badge, directory listing, and branded hub. See safety and trust for how verification works.
What stays private
The details you submit for verification are never shown publicly. Your organisation hub and the directories display only public profile information: name, logo, mission, focus areas, industry, region, and links. Registration and tax document URLs, registration/TIN numbers, full addresses, and your data-protection officer's contact details are visible only to your own account and the Ardent Africa review team.
Fundraising eligibility
While public fundraising is being rolled out, creating fundraising campaigns is limited. The Ardent Africa Foundation is the main public fundraiser for now. See Foundation giving.
