Safety, trust, and how funds work

Verification, donor protection, and where your money goes.

Trust is the foundation of giving. Here is how Ardent Africa protects donors and how money flows.

Verification

Campaigns and organisations can be verified by the Ardent Africa team. Verification reviews documents and confirms the cause or organisation is genuine. Ardent Africa Foundation causes on ardent.africa are verified by Ardent Africa and show Foundation trust badges. User-led campaigns must complete the Verified Cause review. Look for the verification signal on a campaign or NGO profile before giving to an unfamiliar cause.

Donor protection

  • Payments run through trusted processors (Paystack, Hubtel). Ardent Africa never stores your card details.
  • Donor contact details are never shown publicly.
  • Suspicious activity is monitored and acted on.

How funds work

  • For ordinary public fundraising campaigns (when available), a small platform and processing fee applies to each donation. You can choose to cover this so the campaign receives the full amount. Fee details appear on the cause page and on the Fees page.
  • For Ardent Africa Foundation causes on ardent.africa, there is no platform fee. Those cause pages do not show the standard fundraising fee breakdown.
  • Tips are optional and kept separate from a campaign's raised total, so progress reflects money raised for the cause.
  • Funds are settled to verified recipients, with an internal record of every transaction for accountability.

If something looks wrong

If a campaign seems misleading or you spot suspicious activity, use contact and support to report it. Do not complete a payment you are unsure about.
