Your profile and settings
Supporter profiles, achievements, notifications, and privacy settings.
Your profile is your home on Ardent Africa. It is optional and private by default until you choose to make it public.
Supporter profile
A public profile can show your display name, a short bio, your avatar, your country, and aggregate activity such as how many petitions you have signed. You control whether your profile is public.
What is never shown publicly: your phone number and your email address.
Your photos
Two pictures make up the top of your profile: the profile photo in the circle, and the cover photo, the wide band behind it.
You can change either one from your own profile page at ardent.africa/@yourhandle. Hover the
picture and press the camera button on it.
After you choose a file, you get a frame showing exactly what will be kept:
- Drag the picture to move it inside the frame. Use the arrow keys if you prefer.
- Use the slider to zoom in. Plus and minus on the keyboard do the same.
- Press Save photo.
That is the whole thing. There is no separate Edit or Save Changes step for a photo: it is saved the moment you press Save photo, and the profile updates immediately.
A cover is a wide band rather than a square, so a tall photo will not fit whole. The frame is there so you decide which part is shown rather than having the middle taken automatically. If you want a different part of the picture later, choose the file again and reframe it.
You can also change both photos from Dashboard, Profile, where they behave the same way.
The Ardent app works the same: open your own profile, tap the camera on the picture, then drag or pinch to frame it and tap Save.
Your posts
Your profile lists what you have shared, in three tabs:
- Posts, what you have published, including anything you have reposted.
- Replies, your replies to other people.
- Media, only the posts that have photos on them.
Older posts load as you ask for them, so a long history is fully reachable. The app shows the same three tabs.
Achievements
Achievements are badges you earn for what you do on the platform. They are awarded automatically, so there is nothing to claim and nothing to apply for.
Eleven can be earned today, and each one has a condition rather than a threshold you have to guess at:
| Badge | Earned by |
|---|---|
| First Signature | Signing your first petition |
| Active Signer | Signing ten petitions |
| First Donation | Making your first donation |
| Monthly Supporter | Setting up a recurring donation |
| Campaign Creator | Publishing your first campaign |
| Active Supporter | Supporting ten different campaigns |
| Dedicated Supporter | Supporting fifty different campaigns |
| Champion Supporter | Supporting a hundred different campaigns |
| Generous Donor | Giving more than GHS 1,000 in total |
| Major Donor | Giving more than GHS 5,000 in total |
| Viral Campaign | A campaign you created reaching a thousand supporters |
"Supporting" a campaign means giving to it or signing it, and each campaign counts once however many times you do both.
They are visible to anyone who can see your profile. Earned badges appear on your public profile alongside your supporter activity, so turning your public profile off in Settings hides them along with everything else. Your dashboard shows the ones you have and the ones still to earn, with your progress across the set.
A few older badges appear on some accounts and are no longer awarded to anyone new. They stay on the profiles that have them rather than disappearing.
Notifications
Stay up to date on campaigns you support and petitions you sign. Manage what you receive in settings.

You are in control
