Foundation giving

The Ardent Africa Foundation (ardentafrica.org) is the charitable arm of the Ardent Africa ecosystem, and a nonprofit in its own right. It works across Africa.

Its mission is to empower communities across Africa through collective action, transparency, and technology: channelling charitable capital, independent verification, and grantmaking to vetted NGOs and local leaders, so that generosity online becomes real programmes on the ground.

What the Foundation funds

Four pillars, aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

• Education: access to quality learning for children and young adults, from primary schools to vocational and skills training in underserved communities.
• Health and wellbeing: clinics, health workers, and preventive care programmes reaching remote and high-need populations.
• Economic resilience: micro-enterprises, cooperative farming, and small business grants that put economic agency in local hands.
• Emergency response: rapid coordination with NGO partners when floods, conflict, or displacement demand urgent humanitarian support.

Outcomes are published on the Foundation's Impact and Transparency pages.

Working with the Foundation

Giving is not the only route. Organisations doing work in those four areas can apply for a grant at ardentafrica.org/grants/apply, and individuals can offer time or skills through volunteer sign-up.

Zero platform fee

Donations to the Foundation carry no platform fee. The full amount you give goes to the Foundation's work. This is different from ordinary campaigns, where a small platform and processing fee applies once public fundraising is open.

Foundation causes on ardent.africa are verified by Ardent Africa and show Foundation trust badges. Those cause pages do not show the standard fundraising fee breakdown because donations use the zero-fee path.

How to give

1. Open a Foundation campaign or the Foundation giving page.
2. Choose an amount and a payment method.
3. Complete the secure checkout.

You can give as a guest or while signed in. Dedications and fee cover work the same way as ordinary donations (see donating).

Why the Foundation leads fundraising for now

Public fundraising in the region is gated while the right approvals are in place. The Foundation is the trusted entity that fundraises publicly during this period, so your giving is safe and accountable.
