Organisations (NGOs and companies)

Your public hub, verification, teams, CSR pledges, matching, and co-sponsorship as an NGO or company on Ardent Africa.

An NGO/charity or corporate (company) account is a first-class organisation on Ardent Africa. One verified profile becomes your public home for everything you run, and it is discoverable, verifiable, and shared across your team.

Running your organisation from the app

The Ardent app now does the whole organisation profile, not a corner of it. You can change your name, what you do, your mission and vision, what you work on, where you work, who you serve, the year you were founded, your website and your social links. Your logo and banner are chosen from your phone rather than pasted in as web addresses, so a photo of your sign or a file someone sent you both work.

Ask to be verified from the app. Take a photograph of your certificate, or pick the PDF your accountant sent, add a note if there is anything we should know, and send it. Your documents are private: only our review team can open them, and they never appear on your page.

Claim your own work. Anything you published under your own name, or before you joined the organisation, does not show on the organisation's page until you claim it. There is now a list of everything you could claim and a button for each.

Back a campaign. A verified organisation can add its name to a campaign or petition, and a verified company can offer to match what other people give, up to a limit you set. Both are public commitments that an administrator checks before they appear. No money moves: Ardent does not hold or transfer it, and a matching offer is a promise you keep through normal donations.

Your public hub

Every verified organisation gets a public hub (/ngo/<slug> or /corporate/<slug>) that gathers everything the organisation runs in one place: campaigns, petitions, events, marketplace services, volunteer drives, jobs, and its reviews and TrustScore. Impact stats are computed for the whole organisation, so work done by any team member counts towards it, not just the account owner.

Be found in the directories

Organisations are listed in searchable directories, NGOs and Companies, with filters for focus area, industry, and region. A verified badge appears on the campaigns, petitions, jobs, and reviews an organisation runs, so supporters can recognise a trusted org anywhere on the platform.

Get verified

  1. Complete your organisation profile and submit the requested registration and identity documents from your dashboard.
  2. Follow your request through a clear status timeline: submitted, under review, then approved, or needs more information if we need anything else.
  3. If we cannot approve it, we tell you why, and you can update your documents and resubmit.

Verification is about identity, not a fundraising shortcut

Verification proves who your organisation is and unlocks the verified badge and full hub features. It never bypasses our giving rules. Public fundraising stays gated for everyone until licensing opens. Your verification documents are kept private and are never shown publicly.

Work as a team

Add colleagues to your organisation's team so several people can manage your hub, campaigns, events, services and volunteer roles together. What a team member publishes is attributed to the organisation, not to their personal account.

When you create a campaign or petition while your organisation's workspace is active, a Publish as choice appears: yourself, or the organisation. Publishing as the organisation puts its name, logo and verified badge on the page, and lets anyone with a seat manage it. Owners, admins and editors can publish; a viewer seat cannot.

Hiring is a separate team. An organisation seat does not carry access to job postings or applicants, whatever its role. Recruiters are added by email under Hiring → Hiring team, and that seat covers postings, applicants, interviews and messages and nothing else. The split is deliberate: it lets you hand hiring to an HR colleague without also handing over your CSR commitments, verification documents or campaigns.

Take part as the organisation, not just publish as it

Publishing under your organisation's name has always worked. Taking part under it now does too.

Wherever your organisation can act, you will see a "doing this as" choice with your own name and every organisation you hold a seat in. It appears only if you actually hold a seat, so most people never see it at all.

It is on: signing a petition, donating to a campaign, writing a review, registering for an event, applying to volunteer, and booking a service. Both on the web and in the app.

What changes when you choose the organisation:

  • The public surface shows the organisation's name, logo and verified badge, and links to its page rather than to yours
  • A supporter wall, a signature list, a guest list or a review shows the organisation
  • Your own name stays on the record as the person who did it, so the organiser can still reach you

Only a real seat lets you use a name

You can only act as an organisation you genuinely hold a seat in, checked when you submit and again by the database. Typing an organisation's name into a name field has never made an act official and still does not: the badge, the link and the verification only come from a seat. Signed-out visitors cannot act as an organisation at all.

Reviews are the one place worth reading twice. A review left as your organisation shows the organisation to readers, and it is still your review for moderation, appeals and our own records. The name on the page and the person answering for it are two different things on purpose.

CSR, matching, and co-sponsorship

Companies and NGOs can make their public good visible, all as display and tallies only. Ardent never custodies this money; commitments are fulfilled through the normal, compliant rails.

  • CSR pledges: publish corporate commitments on the CSR board.
  • Matching funds: a verified company can propose to match a campaign's donations up to a cap. Donors see a "your gift is matched" banner; the sponsor fulfils the match itself.
  • Backing a campaign: attach a pledge to a specific campaign and your organisation appears on that campaign's page, in its own words. What you have committed is settled directly by you; it is never collected or held by Ardent, and it never appears as part of what the campaign has raised.
  • Petition co-sponsorship: back a petition as an organisation, shown as "Backed by organisations."

Your organisation dashboard

Organisation in your dashboard sidebar is the control room, and it works the same for NGO and corporate accounts:

  • Overview shows organisation-wide activity across petitions, campaigns, events, services, volunteering, jobs and partnerships, plus your reviews and TrustScore.
  • Organisation profile edits everything the public sees on your organisation page.
  • Team invites colleagues and sets what each seat may do. Owners and admins manage seats; editors can work on content; viewers get read-only access.
  • CSR and partnerships is where a verified organisation files pledges, proposes matching funds and backs campaigns, and where it reads those commitments back with their status.
  • Claim content links campaigns, events, services or volunteer roles you created before joining to the organisation.
  • Verification tracks your application and any documents you have submitted.

If you hold a seat in someone else's organisation, use the Acting as switcher at the top of the sidebar to move between your own account and theirs. What you can do in each is decided by your seat role, so a viewer sees the organisation read-only.
